About
The Virginia-born ‘Under The Influence’ artist has built a remarkable career studded with countless chart-topping hits and notable collaborations since he was first signed in 2004 as a fifteen-year-old.
Emerging as a prodigious talent inspired by the likes of Usher and Michael Jackson, Chris Brown’s rise to stardom was meteoric, with his 2005 self-titled debut album heralding his arrival as not only a fresh voice in R&B, but also a charismatic performer with a gift for choreography. Taken from the album, his breakout single ‘Run It’ peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and proved an instant dance floor anthem thanks to its catchy blend of R&B and hip-hop. Featuring a rap verse from Juelz Santana, the track also spawned a remix featuring industry heavyweights Bow Wow and Jermaine Dupri, foreshadowing his boundless influence within music.
In the years following, Chris Brown has consistently delivered genre-spanning hits across R&B, pop, hip-hop, and even electronic dance music, to become one of the most commercially successful artists of our time. To date, he has sold over 140 million records worldwide, and holds the record for the most top 40 hits of any R&B singer in history. Tracks like ‘With You’, ‘Forever’ and ‘Look at Me Now’ epitomise Chris Brown’s versatility for upbeat club classics and heartfelt ballads alike, with his signature smooth vocals rendering his prolific back catalogue ripe for the live setting. An accomplished dancer, his arena tours are revered both for his vocal prowess, intricate choreography and setlists packed with nostalgic hits, spliced with newer material. His knack for performing has also seen the rapper try his hand at acting, with roles in films like Stomp the Yard and This Christmas, whilst also flexing his creative muscles as a visual artist; designing his album covers as well as art for his music videos.
Credited as an early adopter of the collab track, a concept that’s entirely ubiquitous in today’s R&B and hip hop landscapes, Chris Brown continues to be one of the industry’s most sought-after collaborators. His Billboard 200 No.1 2019 album Indigo was a testament to that, featuring guest appearances from the likes of Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and more. More recently, his album 11:11 (Deluxe) won the Best R&B Album award at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking his second win since he won the same category for his iconic 2012 effort, F.A.M.E.
